I read with great interest the recent paper by Lip et al., indicating that clinical congestive heart failure is an important determinant of plasma concentrations of von Willebrand factor (vWf), a marker of endothelial dysfunction, in a large cohort of patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation.[1]
