The Authors' reply We thank Dr Letachowicz and colleagues for their comments1 on our paper,2 in which they call attention to the risk of radial artery occlusion (RAO) after transradial approach (TRA) for coronary intervention. Unfortunately, we did not assess radial artery patency in the patient cohort as described in our article. Previously, though, we examined the incidence of RAO in a large group of patients up to a month after elective percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), and found that it occurred in only a small percentage of patients without clinical consequence.3
