Abstract

Objectives Researching the relationship of the adiponectin (APN) level, single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP45T/G and 276G/T) with the metabolic syndrome (MS) of Ningxia hui.

Methods Choose 305 hui patients, who reside in Ningxia, no genetic relationship, three generations without interracial marriage, were divided into two groups: MS group 207 cases and control group 98 cases; Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) and Polymerase Chain Reaction-Restriction Fragment Length Polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) were used to detect the plasma APN level and gene polymorphism of its two sites.

Results Compared with the control, MS group of BMI, WHR, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, fasting blood glucose, fasting insulin concentrations, TG, TC, LDL - C were significantly increased, HDL-C decrease (P < 0.05). The plasma APN level of hui MS was reduced (P < 0.05); the genotype frequency of hui MS on SNP + 45 Galleles goes up obviously. Proceeding multiple factors gradually logistic, regression analysis shows that SNP+45 Glocus are risk factors to effect MS.

Conclusion APN level of hui MS was decline; People who carries the SNP+45Galleles would run more risk on affecting MS.
