Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinical indicators of Changsha Civil Service on blood pressure, blood sugar, blood lipids, and provide reasonable and scientific measures for the clinical development of prevention against the high blood pressure, high blood sugar, high cholesterol and other chronic disease.

Methods We retrospectively analysed the 5111 cases of civil servants of the Health Management Center in our hospital from 2009 to 2011 by examining the height, weight, blood pressure, blood sugar, blood lipid level and the impact of lifestyle on chronic disease indicators.

Results In the 5111 cases of civil servants, man is 3, 727, woman was 1,384, the prevalence of hypertension was 27.1%, hyperglycemia prevalence rate was 7.7%, obesity prevalence was 39.8%, Hypercholesterolemia (TCH) prevalence rate was 14.3%, hyper-triglycefidemia (TG) prevalence rate was 35.1%. At the same time, the study also showed that the blood pressure, blood sugar and blood lipids have significantly correlated (P < 0.05) with body mass index.

Conclusions With the changing of lifestyle and ageing intensifies, there is the upward trend between the Changsha civil servants on the obesity, hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidemia and other chronic diseases. Therefore, civil servants should be noted that to develop the scientific and health living habits, to actively participate the physical exercises would have the important implications for the prevention against the various chronic diseases.
