Abstract

Objectives To use Hyzaar and Creatine Phosphate Sodium together for treating hypertensive diastolic dysfunction and observe the clinical efficacy by applying the cardiac ultrasound technique.

Methods 65 patients with essential hypertension and hypertensive cardiac diastolic dysfunction, confirmed by echocardiography were randomly divided into 2 groups, the Hyzaar group (oral dose of Hyzaar 1–2 tablets/day, per tablet contains chlorine Losartan potassium 50 mg and hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg), and the combined treatment group (oral dose of Hyzaar 1–2 tablets/day, and intravenous daily dose of 2.0g of Creatine Phosphate Sodium) for 14 days. Ambulatory blood pressure and echocardiography were done both before and after the treatment to analyse the changes of cardiac diastolic function between two groups.

Results 1) The systolic and diastolic blood pressures were significantly reduced in both groups after treatment, but there was no statistically significant difference between groups;

2) Compared with prior treatment, the diastolic dysfunction improved in both groups. The effective rate was 56% for Hyzaar group while that of combined group, it was 100%. Statistically it has significant difference.

Conclusions The patients who has essential hypertension and cardiac diastolic dysfunction could get reversal after getting the treatment of combined use of Hyzaar and Creatine Phosphate Sodium, and it surpasses that of using Hyzaar alone.
