2022, Biomedical JournalCitation Excerpt :Enterovirus infections, such as coxsackieviruses have been considered as the most common etiologic pathogens of viral myocarditis in pediatric population. However, there is evidence that HAdVs may be a significant cause as well [67,68]. Such evidence mainly comes from utilization of PCR assays to detect the presence of nucleic acids in clinical samples.
