Plasma endothelin-1 and adrenomedullin are associated with coronary artery function and cardiovascular outcomes in humans
2019, International Journal of CardiologyAdrenomedullin: Continuing to explore cardioprotection
2019, PeptidesCitation Excerpt :The AM concentration was determined using specific radioimmunoassay that recognizes human AM-(40–52)-NH2 in humans and rats AM [7,8] or AM-(1–52) in humans [69]. The plasma AM concentration increased in patients with essential hypertension [91,92], heart failure [15,19,69,93–96], and myocardial infarction [97,98], in proportion to the severity of hypertension and heart failure, and intra-cardiac filling pressure. The AM concentration appeared to peak at around 24 h since the admission after acute myocardial infarction onset [97].
