  • Limited Relationship of Voltage Criteria for Electrocardiogram Left Ventricular Hypertrophy to Cardiovascular Mortality

    2018, American Journal of Medicine
    Citation Excerpt :

Several electrocardiogram–left ventricular hypertrophy criteria have been proposed and applied in clinical settings, and many studies were dedicated to evaluate the prognostic performance of these different criteria.3 Broadly, they can be categorized into criteria based on electrocardiogram voltage-only4,5,8,9 and composite criteria, including those using voltage plus other electrocardiogram components.10,11,14 Our study showed that electrocardiogram–left ventricular hypertrophy pure voltage criteria were inferior in predicting cardiovascular mortality when compared with composite criteria.
