Surgical management of left ventricular pseudoaneurysms

Can J Surg. 1982 Nov;25(6):670-1.

Abstract

Cardiac rupture usually results in hemopericardium, tamponade and death, but occasionally the rupture is contained by the pericardium, permitting the formation of a left ventricular pseudoaneurysm. This report describes a patient who underwent successful removal of a false aneurysm of the left ventricle and discusses the surgical management of left ventricular pseudoaneurysms.
