Education in Heart (EiH) articles

Each issue of Heart contains 3 Education in Heart articles; reviews by international experts with accompanying series of accredited multiple choice questions (MCQs). All MCQs are hosted on BMJ Learning - the best available learning website for medical professionals from the BMJ Group. Users must initially access the MCQs via heart.bmj.com to be able to use them.

Case based learning

BMJ Learning produces cardiology interactive case histories (ICHs) in association with Heart. These interactive modules are relevant to everyday clinical practice and complement the regular Education in Heart articles. Use these ICHs to learn as you are guided through a real life consultation, answering questions as you proceed. All Cardiology interactive case histories are hosted on BMJ Learning - the best available learning website for medical professionals from the BMJ Group. The ICHs can be accessed from their case based learning article on heart.bmj.com

Accreditation

European Board for Accreditation in Cardiology (EBAC)
All Education in Heart articles published since January 2005 are submitted for accreditation by EBAC for 1 hour of external CME (expires 2 years from date of accreditation). A printable EBAC certificate is generated when you pass a module (pass mark 60%).
EBAC credits can now be converted to AMA PRA Category 1 CME Credits and are also recognised by all National Accreditation Authorities in Europe http://www.ebac-cme.org/newsite/?hit=men02

Royal College of Physicians of London (RCP)
All articles are accredited for 1 hour of external CPD credit by RCP London (pass mark 80%). GMC members can log activity with the [Online CPD Diary]. Please note you may only claim up to SEVEN external credits per year for this activity; additional modules may be logged as personal.

This includes: Education in Heart MCQs, cardiology interactive case histories and modules in cardiovascular disorders. Personal subscribers must initially login to Heart before navigating to the educational content [Heart login] to enable full access rights.

ESC members

Institutional subscribers to Heart
Insitutional subscribers to Heart have access to the Education in Heart MCQs and cardiology interactive case histories on BMJ Learning. Athens users can authenticate with Athens and will be recognised as an institutional customer.
