The authors apologize to readers of the journal for the following errors or oversights in the text of the paper:

1 The patients enrolled in this study were not consecutive as stated in the abstract. As detailed in the Methods, there were 263 consecutive patients with multivessel coronary disease and STEMI who underwent PCI at our institution between January 2003 and December 2007. Of these 263 patients, 47 did not meet study criteria (as detailed in the Results section) and were excluded. In addition, 2 other patients were not included for unknown reasons. Thus, a total of 214 were included in the current study.

2. We used an unrestricted randomization protocol, rather than block randomization. This resulted in an imbalance in treatment groups. We attempted to correct for this imbalance using multivariable analysis but we acknowledge that this is a limitation of this study.
