Mechanism of septal bounce in constrictive pericarditis: a simultaneous cardiac catheterisation and echocardiographic study

A 71-year-old man complained of dyspnoea on exertion and oedema. Chest radiograph demonstrated calcified pericardium. Echocardiogram and gated CT revealed abnormal septal motion in diastole (septal bounce) as well as a septal shift with inspiration (see online supplementary video 1 and 2).
