Abstract

Objectives To analysis clinical characteristics, follow-up and treatment in patients with coronary myocardial bridge.

Methods From August 2006 to December 2011, coronary angiography (CAG) was done in 1567 cases by Judkins method and myocardial bridge was confirmed in 37 cases. Coronary artery stenosis occurred in systolic period and turned to normal or near normal in diastolic period as the evidence of coronary myocardial bridge.

Results The patients with myocardial bridges at proximal segments, middle segments and distal segments of left anterior descending branch were 4 cases, 24 cases and 7 cases respectively. Only 1 case had myocardial bridge at middle segments of left circumflex artery and distal segments of right coronary artery respectively. The stenosis degree was 25% -85%.

Conclusions CAG is a reliable method in the diagnosis of myocardial bridge. Most of myocardial bridge patient show as atypical angina pectoris symptoms, have satisfactory drug treatment, and have good prognosis in recent time. It can be considered to exsect or release if pharmacotherapy is ineffective in patients with severe myocardial bridge. Coronary artery stents implantation don’t generally advocate for routine using.
