Impact of transcatheter aortic valve implantation or surgical aortic valve replacement on right ventricular function

To the Editor Kempny et al have reported an interesting study1 about the evolution of the right ventricular (RV) function after transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) in patients with severe aortic stenosis and high surgical risk. According to the authors, RV function did not change early after TAVI, but it worsened after surgical aortic valve replacement.
