Clinical introduction
A 23-year-old man of Asian origin presented with history of palpitations on exertion for the past 1 year, associated with mild exertional dyspnoea. There was no history of angina, syncope, ongoing fever or cachexia. There was history of prolonged febrile illness 2 years back lasting nearly 2 months, of which no details were available, apart from the fact that he was treated with intravenous drugs for nearly 6 weeks followed by antituberculous therapy for 6 months.
