AB In the rush to assess the role of stem cell therapy for cardiovascular disease the details of translation are easily overlooked. This review summarises the progress to date in translating the exciting preclinical results of cardiac repair into man and considers the questions that this area of research has stimulated about the challenges of moving from bench to bedside.
