The diameter stenosis was measured by comparing the target lumen to the mean of the nearest proximal and distal segments of artery with no histological plaques. Remodelling was the percentage change in the cross sectional area inside the external elastic lamina compared with the mean cross sectional area of the closest proximal and distal segments of normal artery determined histologically.
