The Authors' reply Thank you for the opportunity to respond to correspondents and clarify a few points or misunderstandings. We (founder members of BACR) agree with Jones and colleagues that guidelines for cardiac rehabilitations should be based on best evidence.1 Hence this trial. The paper reports experimental findings (evidence) of the largest trial of cardiac rehabilitation since the WHO European collaborative of 1971–1976.2
