2007, International Journal of CardiologyCitation Excerpt :Most studies did not detail which patients received secondary prophylaxis. Clinical evidence of valve lesions resolves in the majority of patients with mild mitral regurgitation who adhere well to secondary prophylaxis over 5 to 10 years [22,23], so it may be inferred that this medication is also likely to alter the natural history of SCC. From a practical perspective, the availability of echocardiography is increasing in developing countries.
