Cycle length was measured between the onsets of 2 aortic Doppler waveforms. The AV interval was measured from a 5-chamber view with the pulsed Doppler sample gate positioned between mitral valve inflow and aortic valve outflow, as previously described (9,10). We averaged 5 fetal cycle lengths in milliseconds (ms) and 5 AV intervals (ms) measured by Doppler during fetal quiescence.
