In our patients, where a mild salt restriction was suggested, we found the expected2,7,8,13,14,25 moderate decrease in UNaV, coupled with a noticeable reduction in both body weight and average BP values (by ∼ 9/5 mm Hg: systolic/diastolic BP). Our data show that simple tips on salt consumption (with dietary modifications kept to a minimum) can yield some measurable antihypertensive effect, even in a couple of months.
