2020, Heart Lung and CirculationCitation Excerpt :The severity of valvular dysfunction, either pulmonary regurgitation, as determined by PRF or PRV, or tricuspid regurgitation, determined from echocardiography, also did not seem to be consistently related to subsequent outcomes. While guidelines providing indications for PVR have a high degree of standardisation internationally (Table 2) [21–23], expert opinion suggests more specific criteria could be used (Table 3) [3]. The current systematic review supports the use of systolic dysfunction and RVESVi as a marker of subsequent adverse events, but the use of RVEDVi and especially severity of TR as indications for PVR are less supported.
