Massive pulmonary hemorrhage: surgical approach as choice of treatment

Ann Thorac Surg. 1978 Jan;25(1):12-5. doi: 10.1016/s0003-4975(10)63478-9.

Abstract

Massive pulmonary hemorrhage is still a life-threatening problem with high mortality. The surgical versus medical approach to this condition was compared in 146 patients who were treated over a ten-year period. Our evidence shows that early operation is the only choice of treatment.
