Oral Surg Oral Med Oral Pathol. 1983 Nov;56(5):480-2. doi: 10.1016/0030-4220(83)90092-0.

Abstract

Methemoglobinemia is reviewed briefly with particular reference to prilocaine. One case of prilocaine induced toxic methemoglobinemia is presented and discussed to remind the practitioner that although rare, this condition can be life threatening, and should be considered in the differential diagnosis of cyanosis.
