Abstract

Objectives To explore patients risk factors of non-valvular atrial fibrillation with stroke.

Methods Select 1064 patients with non-atrial fibrillation who stay in our hospital during the period of the January, 2002 to the January, 2009 and divide them into group of non-atrial fibrillation with stroke and group of non-atrial fibrillation without stroke, based on the criteria of whether non-artrial fibrillation happening together with stroke.

Results This research finds that the prevalence rate of non-atrial fibrillation with stroke is 13.2%, according to unconditional logistic regression analysis was used for multivariate analysis: advanced age (more than or equal 75 years old) ( OR 1.989; 95%CI 1.250-3.166), history of hypertension (OR 1.802; 95%CI 1.255-2.586), fibrinogen (OR 1.100; 95%CI 1.083-1.117), triglyceride (OR 1.851; 95%CI 1.649-2.077), total cholesterol (OR 1.180; 95%CI 1.095-1.365) were independently associated with non-valvular atrial fibrillation with stroke. while the ejection fraction (OR 0.981; 95%CI 0.969-0.992) is the patients’ protective factor of this disease,

Conclusions the patients’ independent risk factors of non-valvular atrial fibrillation with stroke are namely advanced age (more than or equal 75 years old), hypertension, fibrinogen, triglyceride and the total cholesterol, while the ejection fraction (EF) is the patients’ protective factor of this disease, patients with higher ejection fraction are less likely to show atrial arrhythmias.
