Sudden cardiac death in young athletes
Abstract
Most cases of sudden cardiac death in young athletes (<35 years) are caused by inherited cardiomyopathies, notably hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy
- ARVC, arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy
- HCM, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy
- LQTS, long QT syndrome
- LVH, left ventricular hypertrophy
- SCD, sudden cardiac death
